DID YOU KNOW , George Clooney is the co-founder of CASAMIGOS ?

I don't know if it's just me, but it seems like CASAMIGOS brand tequila has gone Diamond in these streets, lol.

It seems like out of nowhere, everyone has made Casamigos their favorite choice of something to sip on without knowing that one of the co-founders is none other than George Clooney !

You asked, “How did George start the Casamigos brand?” Well, let me tell you, it all started in Mexico when George and his neighbor Randy Gerber would sit up and drink different tequilas. Their conversation soon sparked the idea to start their own tequila company. When it came time to decide on a name for their brand, the two neighbors came up with the name of the island that their vacation homes sit on, 'Casamigo."

The two amigos launched Casamigos in 2013 and were able to move 35,000 cases within the first year. By 2015, the brand was able to close the year out with 80,000 cases of Casamigos sold. George's business partner mentioned to Business Insider that "In 2016, the volume of our business doubled." He did not mention the exact number of cases moved in 2016. However, based on his statement, we can assume that they moved 150,000+ cases in that year. The brand at that point was also sold in thirty-seven (37) countries.

In 2017, after only four years of launching their brand, Casamigos was offered an acquisition. Conglomerate Diageo, offered George & his partners $1,000,000,000 (One Billion Dollars.) The deal consisted of $700 Million dollars at signing and the other $300 Million dollars would be based on the tequila's performance over the next ten years. Sometimes, those drunk ideas with friends can turn into billion dollar businesses.

Side-note: Gerber, George Clooney's business partner, is married to supermodel (and my uncle’s childhood crush) Cindy Crawford. Before Casamigos, Rande owned his own interior design firm.
