We were all amazed to see Patti Labelle's 'Patti Pies' become an overnight success. However, her product was already in retail stores before they became an internet trend.

In 2015, singer James Wright went on his IG story and recorded a video of his now infamous “Patti’s Pies” taste test. The video spread like wildfire and everyone HAD to get their hands on a Patti Labelle Sweet Potato Pie.

It seems like this video was right on time as the Thanksgiving holiday was approaching. I remember everyone wanted to bring a 'Patti Pie' to Thanksgiving dinner as a conversation starter or due to the lack of their baking skills.

During that holiday season, Walmart could not keep the pies stocked on their shelves. Folks were snatching the pies out of the shipping boxes! Walmart conducted a study on Patti Labelle pie sales and found that within a 72-hour period a pie was sold EVERY SECOND.

Flash forward six years later, Patti Labelle pies are still flying off the shelves, DAILY! Walmart recently reported that more than 35,000 (THIRTY FIVE THOUSAND) units are sold EVERY SINGLE DAY.

Let's do the math! Thirty-five thousand units at a retail price of $3.50 equals $112,500.00 in gross sales every day. I wonder what Patti Labelle’s equity-royalty percentage is because I know she's EATing…literally lol!
